Sapphire Point Overlook Trail is a 0.5 mile trail located near Frisco, Colorado that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible from May until September. Great hike for elderly parents or someone on a wheel chair. Also good for small kids. Go counterclockwise for a gentle nice decline for most if the hike, then a short very manageable uphill. Bring sunflower seeds for the chipmunks on the overlook and they will eat out of your hand. Ok, not so wilderness purist, but fun.
Shappire Point has also become a popular place that has become popular for weddings. Permits are available and can be purchased by calling the Dillion Ranger District office at 1-877-444-6777 or their website at www.recreation.gov. Keep in mind the area does not accommodate a large group. It’s small and, private and very intimate not to mention breath taking views of lake Dillon looking back towards the town of Breckenridge.
